Investors from the UAE are showing interest in London

New research by Barratt London reveals that London is the top choice for property investment among investors from the UAE. In a survey of UAE residents, 69 percent selected London as their preferred destination for residential property investment out of ten global capital cities.

Following London, New York and Singapore ranked second and third respectively in terms of appeal among respondents in the research conducted by Insight Advantage on behalf of the British developer. The majority of those surveyed, 58 percent, reside in Dubai, while 28 percent live in Abu Dhabi.

Apart from property investment, the survey also uncovered interest in other investment options such as cryptocurrency, savings accounts, and shares.

Stuart Leslie, International Sales and Marketing Director at Barratt London, commented on the research findings, stating, “The Barratt London UAE research results offer valuable insights into current trends and interests among UAE investors in the international property market. The findings indicate that London is viewed as a reliable and secure option for UAE property investors, offering profitable investment prospects and opportunities for capital growth.”

The report also suggests that investors who already own property in London are likely to increase their investments over the next two years, with 84 percent indicating their intention to do so. Additionally, almost eight in ten respondents without current property holdings in London may consider purchasing by 2026.

The research reveals that the average portfolio value of properties held overseas stands at £2.3 million elsewhere in the UK, reflecting a 16.6 percent increase since purchase. For properties in London, the average value exceeds £2.7 million, with a growth rate of 16.4 percent, according to the findings.
